Healthy Living Vs. Healthy Living
• || F R E E D O M || • the greatest thing I ever did for my physical, mental & EMOTIONAL health when it came to food & my body was giving myself freedom. The old me would get depressed when I “cheated” which would lead to a day(s) full of stress & binge eating my feelings away. But guess what guys - ONE MEAL / ONE DAY WILL NOT RUIN YOUR HEALTH or PROGRESS just like one healthy meal won’t make you healthy. Here’s my advice:
.
1️⃣Fuel yourself with tons of the good NUTRITIOUS stuff for about 80-90% of the week. For me that includes LOADS of veggies, healthy fats & proteins. 
2️⃣Let yourself LIVE the other 10-20%! Please feed that SOUL once in awhile babes. NO, you are NOT a failure for treating yourself! Plus, life is way more fun with pizza and wine, trust me ;) 
3️⃣Don’t make your life about the cheat meals. Remember WHY you are doing this. You aren’t “dieting.” You are learning to live a healthier lifestyle LONG TERM. If you focus too much on your “cheat” meals, it’s easy to forget the bigger picture.

Don’t forget babes, food is here to serve a PURPOSE in our lives - to fuel & nourish our bodies. So when you start shifting your mindset to how you FEEL & making it about your INTERNAL health, then all that guilt, shame & BS strict calorie counting to LOOK a certain way will fade away. And guess what? All that STRESS you are experiencing from your unhealthy relationship with food (which is most likely just causing you to HOLD ON TO weight because of its effect on cortisol) - will slowly start to fade away too!  Remember, healthy living is just as much about your emotional & mental health as it is your physical health. So as all those summer bbqs, pool parties and get togethers begin, remind yourself why you are really here & why you are doing this - for a healthier happier you both physically AND mentally. I can promise you this….learning to live in balance will be one of the greatest gifts you give yourself.  cc: @sierranielsen

It’s that time again..  get ready for this abs + core workout! started my sunday w this routine and loved it! I’ve been isolating abs 1-3 times per week, either add some exercises at the end of my workouts and/or train abs on my rest days

Workout deets:
1. Side to side med ball v leg raises
2. Controlled negative sit ups (make sure you’re using your core and not overarching your back. When you’re about to land, round your back slightly for a gentle landing)
3. Cross body med ball twists (keep core tight and twist by using your obliques)
4. Feet elevated on DB side plank raises (utilize your core to lift and lower you)
5. Med ball weighted pikes (tighten your core as you control bringing your lower body down, as you get closer to ground and cent hold anymore, round back slightly and gently roll onto the floor. Reset feet every time, if needed, and make sure the ball is secured firmly between your feet)

Another move that can either be a GREAT GLUTE BUILDER / finisher in comb with your primary compound moves OR it can be a COMPLETE BACK DESTROYER! Ladies, simply put, even with no weight, this should be challenging & your whole body should be working. If its too easy, chances are you aren’t using correct form. See below for what NOT to do and what TO do!

 Core not engaged. Ribcage flared.
 Back hyperextension (Ouch!! )
 Chest and Lats not engaged.
 Using momentum to drive the leg up and not controlling the movement.
.
️Core ENGAGED and ribcage down.
️Back stays NEUTRAL (straight)! 
️Chest squeezed and lats fired, helping maintain that strong & stable foundation.
️Movement is slow & controlled, really squeezing that booty at the top.
